Eateries will be in Twinbrook Quarter mixed-use development.
A Brazilian steakhouse and a Japanese restaurant in Rockville’s Twinbrook Quarter development are preparing to open in the coming months, according to the eateries.
Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse at 1651 Chapman Ave. is looking to open in December, Diana Ho, a media representative for the restaurant, said Tuesday in an email to Bethesda Today. Genki Wagyu Shabu House at 860 Festival St. is planning an opening in February, according to a Thursday email from the restaurant.
Twinbrook Quarter at 850 Festival St. is home to a Wegmans grocery store, which opened in June. In addition to the Brazilian and Japanese eateries, a tea shop, Molly Tea, and an Afghan restaurant, ZiZa Kabob, are also slated to be dining fixtures in the development. The first phase of the project was completed in 2024, according to Clark Construction.
Terra Gaucha may open to the public in mid- or late-December following a private grand opening planned for mid-December, according to the representative, who did not provide a specific date.
The Rockville restaurant will be the Brazilian steakhouse chain’s sixth location in the country. Terra Gaucha has locations in Connecticut, Florida, Indiana and Nebraska, according to the restaurant’s website.
In addition to offering wood-fired beef, pork, lamb, chicken and seafood, Terra Gaucha serves an array of Brazilian dishes, including pao de queijo, a classic Brazilian cheese puff, caramelized bananas and pork belly feijoada, a traditional black bean dish. Restaurants also feature a buffet-style hot and cold bar with charcuterie, cheeses, sides and salads to go along with main dishes, according to its website.
